Monday, January 30 Kung Hei Fat Choi! To all my Chinese friends (and potential readers): Happy Chinese New Year 2006! This year is the year of the Dog, and if you check out the BBC Chinese New Year 2006 minisite, you can see some of the many incredible things that go on during this festive period. Apparently, I was born in the year of the Ox (1985). (Other Ox years: 1925 1937 1949 1961 1973 1985 1997). The BBC site says, "People born in the Year of the Ox are said to be good leaders, methodical and good at making things. Famous oxen include: Shirley Bassey and Jack Nicholson. Hmm. Well, it's better than being a skunk or something (even though there never was a year of the skunk, but that's unimportant). For the rest of us, January moves on though... In fact, it's almost February already. Ooer... Where did those 30 days go!
