Saturday, May 25 Now here's an interesting article. Why Artists Should Be Using Ogg Vorbis ... I read it, and it makes very good sense. I've already got the ogg vorbis DLL installed for Winamp, so I can listen to both with the minimum of hassle. Sweet.
Still not gonna stop downloading mp3s for the time being - until the Dogs On Acid on AudioGalaxy starts sharing .ogg files then I'll download them. I can't go without my fix of rare Drum And Bass in digital format :D

Friday, May 24 Yet more Unreal Tournament 2 stuff. (I refuse to call it UT2K3 as it's officially called, I'll always regard it as Unreal Tournament 2. So suck it. =)
An interesting interview with two of the p33ps from Epic... Yay UT2 logo.
What you're looking at is the Alpine DVA-7996 DVD/CD/MP3 Receiver with Ai-NET Changer Controls. All for a cool price of $1,199.95 from crutchfield.com.
Just a shame I live in the UK, innit. :(
Someone buy me one! Phuleeeeeeeeeeeze!

Hehehehehehehe...
For Telephone Number 01373 8****5
The checker indicates that Broadband is not currently available in your area, but this is under review. Further announcements concerning this review will be published at the end of June 2002.
If Broadband were available in your area, a preliminary check on your line suggests you may be able to place an order for Broadband services.
Thank you for your interest.
AROOOOOOOOOGAH!
Expect to see me online 24/7 for the rest of eternity as soon as aDSL comes to my village /me dances a jig
Note of caution: when choosing the location to download the extra files from, if you bother to choose, don't choose England - or I suspect any place othe than that, as the beta installer hasn't been updated with the correct location of the extras files. Apart from that, if you choose the US server to download the files from, works perfectly. :)
G'nite, I've got French Listening GCSE tomorrow at 9:15am. Then the rest of the week off. (yay)

Are they trying to track me now during my online exploits? I sincerely hope not... tsk tsk

Hola. Me llamo Christopher - no hay un perro por que mi jardin es demasiado pequeno.
Or something like that.
I did my first GCSE exam today. Spanish, Listening Component. Already done Speaking (Spanish Orals), and still have to do Reading... Not sure if I have to do a Writing component. Felt kinda odd... It was the Year 11 Leaving Party on Friday the 10th of this month, and now there's precious little time for me to spend with some of my best friends, except trying to get to see them in the world outside of school, which becomes more difficult as time goes on... Feels odd, unsettling, knowing that part of your life, which has stayed the same for such a long time, comparatively very ordered to the rest of the world, is just about to stop and I'm going off to Sixth Form afterwards.
There's some people, my friends, who I'll doubtless never talk to again.
However, I'm endeavouring to set up some kind of social anchor, if you will, for people to reference and relate to in the future. Therefore, chriswoods@infinitus.co.uk will always exist in some form or another, so that people can always email it and get in touch with me. I'm just hoping that people WILL do that in the future. I also set up a forum for me and my friends to communicate on in the future, but that's had little takeup. Partially due to the fact that I haven't advertised it. ;) http://cockeyed.deadtrout.com/inside/printer/printcart.html
Bah. Just when I thought my life was getting a little easier... AOL wants to switch back to Netscape. Bah. http://news.com.com/2100-1023-868921.html - oh, and if you read the article, I am one of those people who worry about whether pages are compatible with all the browsers... I have them all installed on my computer :)
I'm tired. And I have waaaaaay too much free time surfing the vast expanses of the web. Scuse me, I'm off to drool at UT2.
Christopher.

Sunday, May 12 Sweet man.
I've just got geOshell up and running, and installed the thems, downloaded some more plugins and set up the skins properly and converted them to the latest format so they work.
Minor bugs aside, this is a kickass light version of LiteStep, and I love it wholly. Fantastic skinning app.
Wanna know more about it? Visit geoshellx.com and for more detailed info on a load of plugins that are included in the installer visit http://website.lineone.net/~pdw63/index.html - that's the site of a guy who made tons of the geOshell plugins.
I'm a little pissed though that you can't use JPEGs as backgrounds though. That's a bug to address :)
l8rz,
Christopher (using geOshell.exe instead of explorer.exe. Bye bye beige! :D)

Thursday, May 9 Oh yeah, some sweet tutorials and videos on here.
If you want to know about subnetting, TCP/IP, DNS, or even how the Internet runs, then check out http://www.learntcpip.com/. I love it, and I've watched all the videos - yes, they even run great over my crappy modem! :D

Not even the Google translator is 100% accurate. One translation of some Spanish on a web site reads:
Finally it is Friday, almost we already can feel the blind person that we are going to pillar tomorrow, and that. it is necessary to celebrate it, like? then happening of curro and playing this.
"...we can already feel the blind person that we are going to pillar tomorrow..." ?!??! bwahahahaaa

phew.
This past 5 years of school's been a tough collection of years, but I think I've finally almost made it. With two days to go until study leave (and the Year 11 Leavers Party, don't expect to see me online for a couple of days after Friday night heehee) and then a few small (heh I wish) GCSEs to do... Well, that'll be the end of my compulsory education.
And then it's off to Sixth Form after the holidays - BAH more uniform purchasing. Huh.
But one thing - YAY FREE PERIODS! woohoo time to design :D :D :D :D :D
Here's something I posted to deviantart.com - the XBox logo in a format large enough to be a background image. I didn't make the actual logo myself, obviously (/me smacks a "duh" sticker on your head if you thought I did ;) but I gathered together the segments of the image, popped it into a PNG image and uploaded it so that myself and other p33ps could download it and have it on their backgrounds because we all love the XBox.
And what do people go and do straight away? Yup, run off shouting "rip he stole the design... ripper".
I say to them: FOOLS. I said soooo many times I hadn't designed the logo myself... Bah.

More cool-ass sites. Don't get pissed off if you're offended by them, I thought they were funny and you should exercise self-control and close the window if you find it offensive.
A rather useful Email Bible. If you're going to email me, follow these instructions...
Taken from steakandcheese, but it applies just as much to me... GODDAM I HATE PEOPLE WHO WRITE THEIR WHOLE EMAILS IN CAPITAL LETTERS BAHHHHHHHHHHH
I'll sure as hell never think of cereal in the same way again. ;)

I spent quite a fair while browsing the Sky News site. Check the video section; when I last went onto it (ten past one am on Saturday the 4th of May), they had an interesting article about the consoles and console wars... XBox vs. GC vs. PS2... I'd put my money with XBox. :)
Go back to the stephensykes.com home page to find some other archived material... This guy rules. :D
