Some things I agree with
(or not as the case may be)
Sunday, April 6 Speaking Freely... Or, why in the future you may never have to use a computer to blog again
"One of the advantages on keeping your eye on technological developments is something comes along once in a while. It's actually quite interesting. I'm actually writing this blog post with voice using SpinVox which is www.spinvox.com, you can write blog posts. You can use it as a voicemail system so it transcribes incoming calls and you can also have recorded your own memos which were emailed to you. So your message is talked to 5 other people via telephone numbers which is kind of cool. Service is free to try. Give it a go although the messages are quite short."
Ok, so that's not quite what I said, but for a voice-to-text solution working solely on the bandpassed input from a mobile telephone call, it was fairly accurate. Here's what I actually spoke (corrections bolded):

As you can see, it wasn't 100% accurate, but I'm still impressed with its accuracy for a dial-up, speak-up, hang-up solution. The only downside is that you only get a short time within which to speak your message - I kept on getting cut off, and had to try again! :) Spinvox.com is the place to go if you fancy trying it for yourself.
